Migrant Helpline - Speakers & Presentations

The Information Team provide speakers for a wide range of audiences including community groups, the Police, Immigration Services and statutory bodies.

Involvement in local schools constitutes a large proportion of our publicity work and our schools presentation programme is highly popular, having received very positive feedback from teachers and pupils alike.

"With regular visits from Migrant Helpline, our young people are beginning to see the world from a different perspective. At the end of the presentation the children feel quite stunned. Some leave the room questioning their previously held beliefs about the plight of a true asylum seeker. If anyone asks the question 'Should other schools welcome such a presentation? I would say a heart-felt YES!'"

Caroline Cannons, Deputy Head Teacher, Walmer Science College

Migrant Helpline have produced a guide for teachers to explain the educational services we offer covering asylum, refugees and migration.
